Helios has lodged two applications with the Government of Aragon for exploration permits. The applications to explore for natural hydrogen and helium have been submitted under the Mining Act.

The permits, designated Sariñena-A and Sariñena-B, are located around 20km to the west of the Monzón-1 natural hydrogen discovery. The combined area of the permits is 16,200 hectares. The area is considered highly prospective based upon the existing dataset of gravity, seismic and well information. 

The exploration program for the Sariñena permits has been designed with proprietary learnings from the successful appraisal work undertaken by Helios on the Barbastro and Monzón permits over the last 5 years. The Monzón-2 appraisal well, planned for the second half of 2026 will provide valuable data that will further inform the evaluation of the hydrogen system in the Sariñena area.
