CEO, Ian Munro and EVP Corporate and Strategy, Carmen Font provided a detailed briefing of the Monzon Natural Hydrogen Project to the Monzon business association and other interested stakeholders. The presentation, followed by a question and answer session, introduced the science of natural hydrogen, described why natural hydrogen is found in Aragón and covered project details. The company explained that it will drill one appraisal well in late 2024 using proven technology and equipment to determine the volume of hydrogen which can potentially be recovered from a depth of around 3,500m. The data obtained from drilling the Monzon-2 well, located a short distance from the Monzon-1 discovery well which flowed natural hydrogen to surface, will be evaluated by the company’s scientists to inform a decision as to whether the project will be commercial. Subject to a successful Monzon-2 well and future full project approval, first production could be achieved early in 2029 to supply local industry.
