H2 med network operated by Enagás can transport hydrogen production from the Monzón Project

Helios has confirmed to Enagás, promoter and Spanish-operator of the future H2med network, its interest in using this pipeline system to transport the production of natural hydrogen from Monzón.

The base case development for the Monzón Natural Hydrogen Project currently envisages the supply of around 50,000 tonnes per annum of hydrogen and potential helium to Spanish industry. The planned H2med project provides significant flexibility for the commercialization of the Monzón Project, allowing for local, regional and European supply.

The H2med project is a transnational initiative to interconnect the hydrogen networks of the Iberian Peninsula to Northwest Europe, enabling Europe to be supplied with up to 2 million tonnes per annum of affordable hydrogen by 2032. The initiative was launched by France, Spain and Portugal, with a strong support by Germany, and is promoted by the transmission system operators of these countries, including Enagás.
