Helios is a leading natural hydrogen company

4th May 2022

The Helios Aragon Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Munro
as Chief Executive Officer.

The Board is confident that Ian brings a skillset and experience that will allow for timely
commercialization of the Helios Aragon Project and the continued growth of a selective
portfolio of high-quality hydrogen assets.

Ian has a distinguished career in the energy industry with Mobil, ExxonMobil, Woodside, Oil
Search and most recently at Twinza Oil, where he was Chairman and CEO. Ian has a Master’s
Degree in Petroleum Geology and over a 30 year career in Europe and Asia has progressed
from technical through to the commercial and stakeholder management arenas.

At Woodside, Ian led the commercial team to the final investment decision of the Pluto LNG
Project in 2007, a development that has proved to be one of Woodside’s most successful. He
subsequently assumed a broader commercial role as Vice President Commercial &
Environment on the Browse LNG Project. A move to Oil Search in 2013 saw Ian join the
executive team, and oversee business development, commercial and LNG marketing activities
for the Company as Executive Vice President Portfolio Management, Gas and Marketing until
early 2020.

Company Co-Founder, Dr Chris Atkinson commented that:

“Ian joins us as CEO and a member of the Board at an exciting time for the Company, as we
commence our geochemical field studies for the Aragon Project this month. Our aim is, with
the support of the Regional and Federal Governments, to be in a position to drill a hydrogen
appraisal well on the structure within the next 2 years. Ian brings extensive experience on
working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to successfully monetise resource projects
in multiple jurisdictions”.

Commenting on his appointment, Ian said:

“I look forward to joining a company which is at the forefront of exploration for natural or
gold hydrogen. The focus going forward will be twofold: to commercialise the Helios Aragon
Project and to identify and acquire additional high-value opportunities for hydrogen
exploration and storage to support the broader transition to a lower carbon future”
